"Mons Silvus" Steel & Walnut Clock
"Mons Silvus" Steel & Walnut Clock
Literally translating to “forest mountain”, Mons Silvus was the original name, as referenced in medieval documents, of the peak we now know as the Matterhorn.
This interesting piece of walnut was left floating around my shop after a recent project. The shape reminded me of an alpine peak and was just too charming to throw on the firewood pile. Obviously too small to be used for much else, I thought this was a fun way to frame (quite literally) this piece of natural art, and create a functional statement piece.
Live edge walnut off-cut framed with brushed steel and a satin finish.
13.5” tall, 13.5” wide, 3” deep
